Feature request: a beginner glossary for all the abbreviations

Suggestion for the site rather than a science question. As a newer reader I spend half my time looking up abbreviations — half-life notation, the difference between preclinical and in vitro, all the compound short names. A pinned glossary in Start Here would lower the barrier a lot.

Ideally it would also flag which compounds have actual human trial data vs. only animal/cell work, since that context matters more than the definitions themselves. Would others use this?

Strong yes. The 'human data / animal only / in vitro only' tag idea is the best part — that single column would do more for new-reader calibration than any amount of prose. It quietly reminds everyone how thin the evidence often is without anyone having to lecture.

Happy to help draft definitions if the mods want a community pass at it. One request: keep it strictly definitional and cite the review articles where possible. The second it drifts into 'here's what people use it for' it becomes a protocol doc, which is exactly what this category isn't for.

Noted and I like it. We'll scope a definitions-only glossary with an evidence-level column and no usage guidance. @quietbench I may take you up on the drafting offer. Keeping this thread open for other fields people want included.
