What draws me to it: cytoprotective and anti-apoptotic signaling, associations with cardiometabolic and neuroprotective outcomes in various models, and some human cohort data suggesting circulating Humanin declines with age and correlates with things like offspring longevity in certain studies. That combination of a plausible mechanism plus actual human association data is rarer than you'd think in this space.
My honest caveat, same as always: associations and model systems are not clinical proof, and I don't want to overstate it. But I'm curious why it gets so little airtime relative to newer peptides. Is it just that it's harder to romanticize than a shiny 'exercise mimetic'? Would love others' takes on where the evidence is strongest and weakest.
