Honest discussion: how much does the thin human evidence bother you?

I want to have a grown-up conversation about evidence rather than trading testimonials. For BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu the human clinical data for musculoskeletal recovery is, as far as I can tell, sparse to nonexistent — mostly rodent and cell studies. Long-term safety data in humans is likewise limited.

My question to the community: how do you personally weigh that? I'm not looking for reassurance or for anyone to tell me it's fine. I'm curious how people reconcile genuine interest in the biology with the honest fact that we don't have the trials. And where does 'informed personal experimentation' end and 'kidding yourself' begin?

Keeping this conceptual and non-personal on purpose. No protocols, just epistemics.

For me the honest position is: interesting mechanism, unproven clinical benefit, unknown long-term safety. I can hold all three at once. The failure mode I watch for is letting a compelling mechanism story quietly upgrade itself in my head into 'basically proven.' Mechanism is a hypothesis generator, not evidence of outcome.

The other thing people underrate is publication and anecdote bias. The person whose tendon healed on its own and credited a peptide posts; the person for whom nothing happened usually goes quiet. Forums systematically overcount the wins.

This is why I stopped treating this stuff as a shortcut. My recovery outcomes tracked almost entirely with load management and sleep, and the honest version of my own story is that I can't prove the peptides added anything on top. I still find the research fascinating, but I've made peace with 'unproven' as the accurate label.

As a clinician I'll just underline the safety half, because it gets less airtime than the efficacy half. 'No strong evidence of harm' is not the same as 'demonstrated safe,' especially long term and especially with unregulated material of uncertain purity. That uncertainty is a real input to the decision, not a technicality. Anyone weighing this for an actual injury should be having the conversation with a professional who can see the whole picture.
