[Complaint] Vial batch number doesn't match the COA I was sent — how do I resolve this?

Filing this as a complaint and a question. The COA I received by email references batch identifier ending in 7-something, but the code laser-etched on the vial I received ends in a different number. Everything else on the label looks normal.

I'm not naming the vendor yet because I want to give them a chance to respond here first, per the complaint guidelines. What's the right way to handle a batch/COA mismatch? Is this always a red flag or can it be an innocent packing error?

It can be an honest fulfillment mistake — someone grabbed the wrong vial from an adjacent bin — but the point is you can't verify anything until it's reconciled, because the COA you have describes a different batch than the item in your hand. Ask the vendor for the COA matching the code actually on your vial. If they can't produce one, that's the real problem.

This is a legitimate complaint. Give the vendor a reasonable window to respond in-thread; if they don't, you may name them and we'll tag them. Keep it factual — the etched code and the COA code, nothing more. We don't adjudicate product quality, only whether the vendor engages honestly with a documented discrepancy.

Update: vendor replied by email, said it was a picking error from a neighboring batch, and sent the matching COA plus a corrected label. Codes line up now. Posting the resolution so the thread isn't just an unanswered accusation.
