Start here: how we talk about fat-loss peptides and GLP-1s (rules + reading list)

Welcome to Fat Loss & Metabolic. This corner of the forum is for discussing the research around body composition, appetite, and metabolism: AOD-9604, MOTS-c, Tesamorelin, the fragment peptides, and the GLP-1 class as a category.

A few things that keep this place useful and out of trouble. First, this is an educational community, not medical advice. We do not post dosing protocols, dose calculations for a specific person, or 'what should I take' threads. The GLP-1 class (semaglutide, tirzepatide and relatives) are prescription medicines β€” we discuss the published science only, and we do not source them, price them, or promote them here. Any 'where do I get' posts get removed.

Second, personal experience is welcome but it is always an anecdote, never a recommendation. The evidence base for most of these compounds is thin β€” a lot of it is animal work or small trials β€” so please flag when you are citing a study versus telling a story.

If you are new, read the pinned 'Research & evidence' threads before asking. And for anything involving your actual health, talk to a qualified clinician. Enjoy the discussions.

Appreciate the clarity on the GLP-1 boundary. It gets asked constantly and it is genuinely a legal/medical line, not the mods being difficult. Nice to have it stated up front.

New here and this saved me from posting a question I now realize would have been removed. Reading the evidence threads first, thanks.
