Vendor Q&A: Do lyophilized peptides really need cold-chain shipping to the EU in summer?

Question for any verified vendors who ship internationally. I keep seeing conflicting statements about whether freeze-dried peptides survive a week in transit at summer temperatures without ice packs. Some vendors ship cold-chain, others say lyophilized powder is stable at ambient for short periods.

What does the actual stability picture look like for powder in transit versus reconstituted product? Purely a handling/logistics question — not asking about use.

Reasonable question and the honest answer is "it depends, and the published data is thinner than people assume." Lyophilized powder is generally far more tolerant of short-term ambient excursions than reconstituted solution, which is why most of us ship it dry. That doesn't mean heat is harmless — repeated high-temperature exposure over long transit can still matter, and it varies by peptide.

We ship dry with an insulated mailer and, on request, a temperature indicator for longer routes. Once it arrives, storage is on the recipient. We can describe our handling; we can't and won't tell anyone how to store for personal use — check the product documentation and a qualified source.

The temperature-indicator option is a nice touch, that actually answers my logistics worry. Thanks for being upfront that the data is limited rather than just asserting it's fine.

Sharing as a personal anecdote only: I've received dry-shipped packages in a European heatwave that still tested consistent with their COA on arrival, and others where I asked for the indicator and it had tripped, so I asked for a resend. Your mileage varies by carrier and route. Not a recommendation, just what happened to me — ask for tracking and an indicator if a route worries you.
