The whole pitch for acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) and SNAP-8 is that they interfere with the SNARE complex / neurotransmitter release, so you get a mild neuromodulator effect topically. Marketing loves to call them 'Botox in a jar'.
My skepticism: a peptide that large penetrating the stratum corneum in a meaningful concentration and then reaching the neuromuscular junction seems like a big ask. Has anyone read decent penetration or efficacy data rather than the manufacturer brochures? Where does the honest line sit between 'does nothing' and 'mild, temporary softening of dynamic lines'?
