Is there ANY human evidence for BPC-157, or is it all rat tendon studies?

I keep seeing BPC-157 described as well-studied, but every citation I chase down leads to rodent models, mostly gastrointestinal and tendon-to-bone healing work out of a handful of labs. When I search for registered human trials I come up basically empty.

Am I missing something? Genuinely asking whether anyone has found a peer-reviewed controlled human study, not a case report or a conference abstract. I want to calibrate how much weight to actually put on the animal data.

Not looking for what to do with it, just trying to map the evidence base honestly.

You're not missing much. The bulk of BPC-157 literature is preclinical, heavily rodent, and clustered around a small number of research groups. That clustering matters, independent replication across labs is one of the strongest signals we have, and it's thin here.

There are a few early-phase human safety-oriented efforts floating around registries, but published, controlled efficacy data in humans is essentially absent as far as I can find. So the honest framing is: mechanistically interesting, promising in animals, unproven in people. Anyone telling you more than that is selling something.

Worth flagging the species-translation problem specifically. Rodent tendon and gut healing models don't map cleanly to human timelines or loading, and the injection-site local effects seen in rats aren't the same experiment as a systemic human outcome. I treat the animal work as hypothesis-generating, not confirmatory.

This is the calibration I was after, thank you both. Sounds like the correct summary is 'interesting preclinical signal, no real human efficacy data.' I'll stop citing it like it's settled and would obviously talk to an actual clinician before treating any of it as actionable.
