GHK-Cu: what's the research actually about — skin, or deeper connective tissue?

Trying to understand GHK-Cu at a conceptual level and hoping people can point me to the literature rather than anecdotes. Most of what I read framed it around skin — wound healing, collagen, cosmetic topical use. But in recovery circles people talk about it like a general connective-tissue tool.

My question is narrow and non-personal: is the human evidence base mostly dermatological/topical, and is the 'deeper tissue' use largely extrapolation? I'm not asking what to do or how much of anything — just trying to calibrate where the science actually is versus where the forum enthusiasm is.

Links to reviews or primary studies welcome. I'd rather read the methods myself than take a summary's word for it.

Your instinct is right. The bulk of the peer-reviewed GHK-Cu work is around skin, wound healing and cosmetic/dermatological endpoints, plus a fair amount of in-vitro gene-expression work that gets cited very enthusiastically. The 'it does everything for connective tissue systemically in humans' framing is mostly extrapolation from mechanism, not clinical outcome data.

That's not me saying it's inert — the copper-peptide biochemistry is genuinely interesting. It's me saying the confidence people express online outruns the human evidence. Read the reviews with an eye for whether an endpoint was measured in people or inferred from cell culture.
