I keep seeing Tesamorelin brought up in fat-loss conversations, usually framed as 'the one that targets belly fat.' Before I read too much into that framing I wanted to understand the context of the research.
My understanding is that it's a GHRH analog and that the notable trials were specifically in HIV-associated lipodystrophy — patients with excess visceral adipose tissue in that particular clinical context — where it did reduce visceral fat. That's a pretty specific population. Does anyone know whether there's meaningful published data on it for otherwise-healthy people trying to lose weight, or is the 'targets belly fat' reputation basically extrapolated from that one indication?
Not asking for anyone's protocol, just trying to understand how much the study population limits what we can conclude.
