As someone who joined a couple months ago, here are the words that tripped me up early, with the plain-English versions that finally made them stick. Posting in case it helps the next newcomer. Corrections very welcome, I'm still learning and this is my understanding, not expert instruction.
- Lyophilized: freeze-dried into a powder for stability. (I'm deliberately NOT getting into what you'd do with that powder, that's outside this category and I'm not qualified anyway.) - Analog: a molecule intentionally tweaked from an original so it behaves a bit differently, e.g. lasts longer. - Agonist vs antagonist: agonist activates a receptor, antagonist blocks it. - Half-life: rough measure of how long something sticks around in the body before it's cut in half.
