My 6-week experience journaling an Achilles tendinopathy flare (personal anecdote)

Sharing this as one person's anecdote, not a recommendation, and I'm deliberately not going to post amounts or a schedule per the rules. I had a nagging Achilles issue from ramping running mileage too fast, confirmed as tendinopathy by a sports physio.

What actually moved the needle for me was the boring stuff: the physio put me on a progressive loading program (heavy slow calf work) and I finally took the deload seriously. I was also curious about BPC-157 because it's everywhere in these discussions, so I read what I could find. I want to be honest that I can't separate any peptide effect from the fact that I was, for the first time, doing rehab correctly and sleeping more.

Subjectively the morning stiffness eased over about six weeks. But that's also a completely normal timeline for tendinopathy with good loading, so I hold my conclusion loosely. Posting mostly because I see a lot of people expecting a peptide to fix a tendon while they keep aggravating it.

This is a really healthy way to frame it. From a rehab standpoint, mechanotherapy (progressive loading) is the intervention with the strongest evidence for tendinopathy, and the timeline you describe fits that alone. The honest 'I can't attribute this' framing is exactly right.

Worth flagging for readers: tendon adapts slowly, and the biggest predictor of relapse is returning to load too fast. Whatever else someone experiments with, the loading program is the part I'd never skip. Anyone dealing with this should get an actual diagnosis first — Achilles pain can be several different things.

Agreed on getting it diagnosed. Mine felt like classic mid-portion stuff but the physio checked to rule out other causes, which I wouldn't have done on my own.

Thanks for not turning this into a protocol post. The 'I fixed my rehab and slept more at the same time' confound is so real and almost nobody admits it.
